Our research on biomedical microscale and nanoscale devices focuses on platform biosensor technology based on nanomaterial-enabled smart assemblies. These systems are produced through a combination of microfabrication methods and self-assembly. An overview of some of our ongoing activities is provided here; these are not updated regularly, but serve to illustrate some of the areas we are investigating and the multidisciplinary nature of the work.

Current and past work has been supported by the National Institutes of Health (Sensor Development and Validation, Director's Transformative Research, Artificial Pancreas), the National Science Foundation (Nanoscale Exploratory Research, Nanoscale Interdisciplinary Research Team, Bioengineering Research, Partnerships for Innovation, Biosensing, NanoBioSensing, International Programs), the US Army Medical and Material Command, NASA (Louisiana Undergraduate Research Assistantships), the Whitaker Foundation (Grants for Young Investigators), the Rockefeller Brothers Fund (Biomedical Pilot Initiative), and the Louisiana Board of Regents (Research Competitiveness Program, Governor's Biotechnology Initiative).
